Pregnancy brings you a lot happiness, excitement, unlimited food cravings and of course oodles of weight gain. And, for me it was a massive 23 kgs. Yes, you read it right. While I lost the first 8 kgs within a month naturally like anyone else, the remaining 15 kgs were my biggest challenge. Though I did not take it to my heart initially but by 4th month of postpartum it started bothering me. I have been in my ideal weight range all my life before pregnancy so this new body was really hard to accept.
Here started my research on weight loss keeping in my mind my baby’s nutritional needs as a lactating mother. There is no concrete information or a rock solid meal plan over the internet. Within a month I came across @askyourdiet in Instagram and got in touch with Manish. Trust me, I must have been one of the most apprehensive clients for him as I was a lot concerned for my baby’s lactation. Most dietitians put you on liquid or a no carb meal plan but this wasn’t the case with @askyourdiet. I was also scared of the commitment as I thought I would be required to work-out and it wasn’t a possibility for me with an infant and a c-section surgery. So, it was a plain diet magic. I have had all I wanted to eat and never cribbed about being on a diet plan. It basically came as clean eating and a lifestyle change. I am a big foodie and suffered mentally with cravings for junk, but Manish kept motivating me. He is extremely prompt to queries and very knowledged as well. Now when I look at myself in the mirror, its not just a leaner me but a well informed me who is going to maintain good eating habits for life.
I am 8 months postpartum and it’s unbelievable that I have achieved this for the kind of lifestyle I always had. A journey from 75kgs to 62kgs within a span of 10 weeks was never a cakewalk in my head but surely was with @askyourdiet. Kudos to you for transforming lives, no amount of gratitude can match what you have contributed to my journey of being a fit momma.
